Learning Australian history in French?
Over the past six months, SBS French journalist Grégory Plesse and French historian DrRomain Fathi have launched a series of podcasts on Australian history. Those podcasts are recorded in French, bien sûr, and aim to cover 'lesser known' (allegedly) aspects of Australian history.
Podcasts include but are not limited to: the Emu War, nuclear tests in Australia, colonisation, Pine Gap, Canberra, the Sydney Olympics, etc.
The series is available on this link and will continue to grow through 2023.
Feel free to have a listen to these podcasts or use them in the classroom. Discussing a topic they know about might be a good way to get the conversation going among Australians learning French.
