Add your voice in the AI Action Summit !
Dear AFRAN members
France will host on 10-11 February 2025 an “AI Action Summit”, which will follow and build on the important contributions of the Bletchley Park Summit last November and of the South Korean Summit last May.
This is a great opportunity for AFRAN to contribute its unique perspective to the global public debate on AI policy and governance. Ahead of the Summit, we would like to publish a short discussion paper that will be sent to the Summit organising committee and to Australian policy-makers.
The goal of the paper will be to give an Australian/French/Pacific perspective on the 5 key topics of the summit:
1) Public Interest AI;
2) Future of work;
3) Innovation & Culture;
4) AI of Trust;
5) Global AI Governance.
The discussion paper could present AI challenges specific to the Australian/Pacific context, and a few case studies of successful initiatives that could be replicated to different contexts.
We are looking for AI projects to showcase in this discussion paper. If you’re interested in contributing ideas and resources (projects or research you are involved in), please reach out to sarah.vallee@anu.edu.au before October 31st.
Also, there is an opportunity for academics to send written submissions to the organisers of the Summit: https://aisummit-expertconsultation.org/
Thank you!
Sarah Vallee, AFRAN AI Community Lead
