FRANCOPHONE PRESENCE IN OCEANIA

Francophone islands in the Pacific include:

• New Caledonia – a French Overseas Territory with a unique autonomous status: ‘Collectivité d’Outre Mer sui generis’

• French Polynesia – a French Overseas Territory ‘Collectivité d’Outre Mer’

• Wallis and Futuna - a French Overseas Territory ‘Collectivité d’Outre Mer’

• Vanuatu – the Republic of Vanuatu has three official languages: French, English and Bislama, and has historical ties with France and New Caledonia.

Most of the research priorities and some of the actors outlined in the French Research Landscape will be applicable and present in these islands.​​
