AFRAN brings together a diverse group of French researchers who are currently working in Australian. It has over 200 members and aims to connect French researchers, enhance their career opportunities, and to promote French research excellence in Australia.
The Australian Technology Network of Universities (ATN) and the Embassy of France in Australia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) last week in Adelaide to promote cooperation between French and Australian universities.
In 2016, the AFRAN association financed 2 workshops, one leading a discussion on gene drives with the CRISPR technology, and the other about cancer, has been the occasion to launch the first LIA between INSERM and Australia. This year, the AFRAN association will finance 4 new projects on major themes: Future energy, exo-planets and astrobiology, ocean ice studies, and waves energy.
