About Australian-French Association for Research and Innovation (AFRAN)

AFRAN brings together a diverse group of researchers working in France and Australia, in academia, government, as well as industry. With over 350 members, AFRAN aims to connect researchers who are interested in, and promoting France-Australia science and technology collaborations.


AFRAN Call for initiatives 2018

The Australian French Association for Research and Innovation launched its annual call for initiatives. AFRAN will offer funding up to AUD 5,000 (five thousand Australian dollars) towards logistics and/or travel costs for selected initiatives. This program only funds projects initiated by members of AFRAN. Deadline: 15 July 2018.


AFRAN met with President Macron and Minister Vidal early May in Sydney:

AFRAN members had the opportunity to exchange with the High Education, Research and Innovation delegation on their experiences of scientific cooperation between France and Australia. They also showcased the association’s activites, its potential for structuring the bilateral cooperation, as well as its development objectives, in particular in France..
