AFRAN brings together a diverse group of researchers working in France and Australia, in academia, government, as well as industry. With over 300 members, AFRAN aims to connect researchers who are interested in, and promoting France-Australia science and technology collaborations.
The Australian French Association for Research and Innovation Forum for 2017 will be held in Canberra on the 7th and the 8th of December.
In 2016, the AFRAN association funded 2 workshops, one leading a discussion on gene drives with the CRISPR technology, and the other about cancer, also providing an opportunity tolaunch the first LIA (Internatinal Associated Laboratory) between INSERM and Australia. In 2017, the AFRAN association will finance 4 new projects on major themes: Future energy, exo-planets and astrobiology, ocean ice studies, and waves energy.
